Do you want your work to really make a difference to people's lives?

You can achieve this in the supportive and friendly environment at Structural Engineers Cambridge Ltd. Whether it be one of the myriad residential projects where your designs will be built within weeks of it leaving your desk, or a new learning facility for a school, a commercial building or even a historic building or piece of artwork which will last for many generations, your knowledge and talent will be the vital element that makes it all work.

Structural Engineers Cambridge Ltd is known as the place to go for helpful, knowledgeable and practical structural engineering advice and we're on the lookout for talented people to  join our team.

That person will need to have a really good understanding of "first principles" engineering and importantly, a genuine concern for the people who live, work, play and study in the buildings that we design; a person who sees themselves as an Engineer in the truest sense of the word.

This means having the courage to insist on the correct solution; the diligence to ensure each calculation is accurate, and the insatiable desire to learn constantly and make use of that knowledge every day.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and a few years' experience in the construction industry. We are happy to consider applications from people qualified in other relevant engineering disciplines or with other experience - what we require is a positive attitude and a desire to learn. Remuneration will be offered to match your expertise and experience.

We also require maternity cover for our drawing office, to start later this summer. Expertise in AutoCAD is essential and knowledge of Revit or other modelling software is also valuable. This position  would suit a self-employed contractor or a fixed-term employee contract.

Much of our work is in the domestic and small commercial sector, with project values up to £5 million. This sector demands ingenuity and a talent for getting to the nub of a problem confidently and accurately. No matter what the medium, a talent for drawing and writing clearly is vital. If you enjoy the immediacy of seeing your designs built as soon as the ink dries, this is the challenge for you!

We also have a thriving  stream of work in the educational and institutional sector, with project values up to £10 million. We have made a significant investment in software and training to become Level 2 BIM compliant in order to meet the government's directive for publicly funded projects, and this gives a great opportunity to get immersed in fully integrated 3D analysis and design. You will find we have a collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a wide range of experience to share.

Please address your enquiries to Charles Tallack with your CV.

NO AGENCIES PLEASE!

We're looking forward to hearing from you!
