Besides the design of new or modified buildings, we also carry out investigations and reports on existing structures, usually as a result of a suspected defect or damage.
This may be a requirement imposed by an insurance company, or in order to complete the sale or purchase of the property. In these cases, a speedy response is usually needed, although for subsidence investigations thorough monitoring may take many months.
Please note that we do not generally provide "structural surveys "or building surveys or valuations in the sense that is meant by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in the context of house purchases. Rather, we aim to focus on the particular defect in question, perhaps initially detected by the surveyor or owner, and provide a succinct diagnosis of the problem and proposals for remedial work.
